Rebuilding Ngima Sherpa's Home
Donation protected
Ngima Sherpa has taken so many of us to Mount Everest Base Camp or some other wonderful place in Nepal. Now he needs our help.
His village, Chyangba, was hit hard by the recent earthquake. We've raised the $40k necessary to rebuild the school and libaray in the village that we helped fund and build in 2009.
Ngima's family home was destroyed. This is the home I visited in 2009 where his monther and sister live. Ngima is the economic engine of Chyangba as he hires all of the Sherpa (aka the Chyangba Mafia) each year to do the treks. Now all commerse has stopped as he has to rebuild his home. The faster we can raise the money to rebuild, the faster we can put Chyangba back to work and put the earthquake behind us.
For those of you who don't know me, I've traveled to Nepal about 10 times over the past 15 years with Ngima. You can count on me to keep you updated with photos of the progress of the rebuilding campaign.
