Cancer Stinks

Hi, my name is Heather and I am raising funds for my fiancee, Cody Gardiner, who is fighting a battle with cancer. Cody was diagnosed with cholangiocarcinoma (bile duct cancer) at the young age of 29. He will undergo chemotherapy and surgery to remove cancer in his liver. A liver transplant is his 3rd option. He may also have primary sclerosing cholangitis, PSC, which is an autoimmune disease of the liver that has no cure. He has a long road ahead of him and many trips to Pittsburgh, which is two and a half hours from home. All monies raised will go to unpaid medical bills, gas for transportation, and any bills that begin to pile up at home while Cody is off work for treatments and focusing on his recovery.

Cody is quite the jokester. He's always trying to make people laugh even during the darkest of times. He is a loving stepfather to my 8-year-old son and 2 adult children and daughter-in-law, a loving brother to his older and younger sibling, and loving uncle to his 4 nieces. He has 2 cats, Mew and Nala and a dachshund puppy named Piper. He enjoys watching anime, reading manga, kayaking, D&D, and video games with his friends. He's the first to offer help and the last to ask for it.

Unfortunately, cancer runs in many families and Cody's isn't exempt. He watched his mother suffer from this vicious disease as a teenager into his young adult life, eventually losing his only surviving parent. His father died before he was 6, to a losing battle with mental health. Cody still found ways to bring a smile to as many faces as he could. Now with so little family we are asking our friends and reaching out to our community for love and support through this incredibly difficult time.
