NHS Immunity Juice Shot Charity Campaign
Donation protected
As a business that focusses on the importance of natural foods in boosting wellness and immunity, we have been approached by a number of NHS wards asking whether we might be in a position to donate some food or juices to their front-line staff, who are clearly in desperate need of extra care and well-deserved recognition at this critical time in fighting this malignant and terrifying pandemic. Many front-line staff work long shifts, in straining conditions, and in some instances have been struggling to source the supplies they need outside of these hours from poorly stocked shops with huge queues, or from online grocery services with week-long waits.
At the same time, the restaurant and hospitality industry has in recent weeks been dealt a severe blow, and small cafe businesses like ours are struggling in this challenging environment. Whilst there is government support for shuttering businesses, in many cases it makes the most sense to stay open, helping to deliver healthy food through delivery services such as Deliveroo to support our local community, many of whom cannot leave their homes, or are afraid to do so. The loss of eat-in trade and the majority of take-out trade has meant that we are facing a big drop in sales.
It is with these two factors in mind that we have decided that the best way to maximise our charitable impact is to ask you to donate money towards buying our organic cold-pressed juice shots for front-line NHS staff, specifically our immunity-boosting ginger shot and our anti-inflammatory turmeric shot. For every shot bought, we will donate an equivalent number of shots, and these will be given straight to key workers at wards both locally and nationally, both directly and through partners such as the Duchess of York's charitable foundation. In addition to this scheme, Raw Press is already donating any packaged food that we can spare, directly to these causes.
This effort will be a hugely appreciated gesture by NHS wards up and down the country, whilst also helping to support local business.
Potential recipients that have been provisionally identified include 500 critical care workers at Huddersfield Royal Infirmary, 50 key workers at Hammersmith Hospital, 40 critical care workers at the Royal Alexandra Children's Hospital in Brighton, COVID workers at the Chelsea & Westminster Hospital, 40 staff at the Bethlem Royal Hospital, and staff at the new Mental Health Emergency Service at Springfield Hospital (St George's) that has been established to reduce pressures on the overrun A&E departments, as well as front line workers at the Royal Free Hospital in Hampstead.
To say a massive thank you we will be giving £10 Raw Press gift cards if you donate £50, and £25 gift cards if you donate £100, which can be used on our website. We will also be sharing images and stories on social media where we can.
Whilst we do not make any health claims in the context of coronavirus, raw organic cold-pressed juices are rich in nutrients and vitamins, and these 2 shots are specifically beneficial for our immune systems. The BOOST shot contains ingredients such as ginger, which is a powerful anti-inflammatory, siberian ginseng which is said to combat fatigue and which may help to prevent stress-related illness, as well as baobab, which has 6x the vitamin C of an orange. Our turmeric HAPPY shot has a high proportion of raw turmeric juice, straight from the root, and several studies have reported broad-spectrum antimicrobial and antiviral benefits for turmeric's key compound, curcumin.
This fundraiser will run until Monday 20th April.
