NHS WARD 38 RVI High Dependency Unit, HDU
Donation protected
Hi my name is Jag Singh son of Gus and i would like to take the opportunity to say a big thank you for all the love and warmth that the people of Walker, Byker, Howdon, Wallsend and up and down the country have shown my family. Gus ran a chippy on Wharrier street Walker for 30+ years and was very much part of the community along with his brother Dave. Often Gus could be found at his brothers shop sharing a drink just around the corner on Saint Anothony’s road. Later on in life Gus could be found helping us out in our Churchill street shop in Howdon Wallsend, where he became popular with a lot of our customers and made more friends. Let it not be said that nothing good has come out of Walker, the over whelming support and love and condolence has been unpresedented. It feels like the whole community has put their arms around us. We thank you with all our hearts. Gus was at the RVI WARD 38 ( HDU - High Dependency Unit) for a whole month fighting COVID 19 and the knock on affects that it gave him. Unfortunately he lost his battle to live on Wednesday February the 17 2021. This is however, no reflection on how hard the consultants and nurses strived to keep our dad alive. It has been a thankless task for those unsung heroes who have normal everyday worries when they go away from work. My family and i would like to give a big shoutout to Ward 38 HDU at Newcastle RVI. Where we were all treated courteously, respectfully and with great warmth. We feel the best way to do this is by setting up this go fund me page with the support of all friends and the wider community in the north east. My family and i hope that this will benefit the WARD with more resources and more staff to help fight this on going pandemic.
