Memorial bench for Niall McCluskey

Portobello Running Club are seeking to raise funds for a memorial bench in memory of our friend and club mate Niall McCluskey who tragically passed away in 2022. Niall was a proud member of the club who embodied so much of what is good about being a Porty. He loved running and would spend his weekends participating in various races and challenges and encouraging others to do the same. Of a Saturday morning Niall would frequently be found at Figgate Park in Portobello on the start line of the Portobello Parkrun. We think it would be a fitting tribute to Niall and his family if a memorial bench was placed there so that his friends and loved ones could gather there post-run and remember one of the good guys.

We are hopeful that we can raise sufficient funds for a bench with a plaque and would be grateful for any donation towards the total cost.

Any additional funds raised will be donated to the family’s chose charity Samaritans.
