Nia’s 2022 Cotillion Scholarship Fundraiser

Dear Family and Friends,

 

We are pleased to announce that, Nia, is a Debutante in the “2022 Obsidian Civic Club Cotillion”.

 

The Obsidian Civic Club, an affiliate of the New Jersey State Federation of Colored Women’s Clubs, Inc., is an organization well known for sponsoring the Annual Cotillion for many years in Union County. Noteworthy to mention that since the first Scholarship Ball in 1979, the Obsidians have provided over seven hundred thousand dollars in scholarship opportunities to more than four hundred young men and women in the Union county area and adjacent communities.

 

Nia is an amazing 17-year-old and graduating senior where she is a part of the National Honor Society, Black Student Union, Track & Field Club, and Newspaper (Editor). For several years Nia has been a member of the Alvin Ailey Junior Division. She is also an amazing writer and has been awarded the Scholastic Arts & Writing Gold and Silver Key Awards. Nia has an outgoing charismatic spirit and genuinely cares about helping others. Her family and friends most often describe her as joyous, talented, smart, kind-hearted, caring and thoughtful.

As a Debutante, Nia will participate in various workshops and cultural activities designed to build character, self-esteem, and leadership skills while giving her an exciting opportunity to bond with other young ladies and build lasting friendships.

We are soliciting your support of Nia’s cotillion participation and your assistance to help her secure the crown with a financial donation that will go toward the purchase of an ad in the souvenir program.
