Nicci & Kent Kochsmeier
Donation protected
Over the past year, my brother-in-law Kent Kochsmeier had found himself in a new career as a dental assistant. He had gone back to school for a dental program & quickly afterwards landed a job! The pay was entry level but the outlook was promising as Kent was happier than he may have ever been with a job.
Life was good and things were looking up for my sister and her family, until out of nowhere Kent had a debilitating seizure. He was having chest pains one morning & luckily decided to drive to Nicci’s doctor’s office where she was working. The boys were at daycare & school.
Quickly after arriving Kent began having a seizure, with no major warning signs & no history of this health ailment. Kent was rushed to the hospital & after almost a week & many tests it was found that he had 3 spinal compression fractures & had severely fractured his shoulder from the severity of the seizure.
After prolonged hospitalization and extensive testing, so many questions went unanswered, but Kent is believed to be struggling with epilepsy. He is now home recovering, but unfortunately it is going to be a slow and long process. He is unable to drive for a few months and unable to go back to work until he is fully healed. Due to multiple surgeries he is also physically limited from helping with the kids, and this is not only hard for him but for Nicci as well. She hasn’t been able to work full time at work in order to take care of Kent and the kids, and this has brought on even more financial strain.
With Kent being out of work for the foreseeable future & the thousands of dollars in medical bills stacking up we have no choice but to ask for help. Everyone close to my sister and her family will be helping day and night with what we can & we hope that anyone else who can donate will do just that.
We would be beyond grateful for any amount & we appreciate your time & thoughts. Together we will help the Kochmeiers rise above this & get back on track for a happy and healthy future!
