Nicholas Clohessy’s Eagle Scout Project

My name is Nicholas Clohessy, and I am a Boy Scout of Troop 77, located in New Port Richey, Florida. I am currently working on my Eagle Scout Project and have decided to work with The American Legion, Paradise Post 79. The Legion is currently working with Pine Hill Cemetery in New Port Richey, Florida to restore a Medal of Honor Recipient's memorial. I am working in collaboration with this project to restore honor to the remaining Veterans in the cemetery. I will be orchestrating the cleaning of over 100 Veterans gravestones that have been subject to environmental growth over the years. If the gravestones have flag holders, they are pvc pipes holding the flags. Some of the flags are torn or have mold on them. I will be providing each Veteran’s gravestone with a Veteran’s grave marker which will hold a new flag. There is also a dirty Memorial sidewalk leading to an unlit flagpole with a torn flag. I will be pressure washing this sidewalk, installing a flag light, and a new flag. I am requesting donations to complete this project as many of the materials and cleaning supplies are high quality and expensive. These donations will be used to purchase the Veteran’s grave markers, new flags, environmentally safe cleaning solution, and other materials/ supplies which will be used to restore honor to the fallen Veterans.
