http://ciny.monroecollege.edu/The-Study-Abroad-Program.html Hello All.... As many of you know my son Nicholas has a passion for cooking and is studying in the culinary arts field to pursue his dream. His passion for the arts shows in his work ethics at events & competitions. Nicholas attended Food and Finance High School. As NYC's only culinary-focused public high school, FFHS provides a unique educational opportunity to students and their families. Students learn the true value of hard work, dependability, and time management from a staff of acclaimed chefs, educators, and business leaders that oversee their curriculum, field trips, student-run cafe, and internships.
When Nicholas was in HS he maintained on the Honor Roll and was inducted into the National Honor Society. He competed at the CCAP competitions where he was awarded a cash scholarship for college.
Careers through Culinary Arts Program (C-CAP), a national non-profit, works with public schools to prepare underserved high school students for college and career opportunities in the restaurant and hospitality industry. Many of our students compete in the annual C-CAP competition and to date have won over $ 1 million in scholarships.
He also received scholarships to some of the top culinary & hospitality schools like CIA, Johnson & Wales and at the Culinary Institute of New York (Monroe Collge) where he now attends. He  was awarded a Presidential scholarship and is in the Honors Program at Monroe.
He has received his AAS degree in Culinary and is still studying for his BBA in Hospitality Management and hoping to pursue to get his graduate degree in Business.
He's been granted an opportunity to continue his culinary studies  to study abroad in Brescia, ITALY for 2 months from August-October. Of course, this trip is not fully covered by financial aid or scholarships. Therefore, any contributions made will go towards the expenses for the program. We are hoping to reach our goal by August 1st.
This is a once in a lifetime oppurtunty for him to challenge  & broaden his culinary skills. He is one of 10 students that were chosen and we couldn't be more proud of him.....
Attached is his acceptance letter and a link about the program above the letter. Also, I attached a small video of one of his competitions judged by the ACF.
We are hoping to reach our goal to send him off to ITALY.....Thank you so much for any contributions and for your continued love & support.

Sincerely,
A proud MOM
