Nicholas Eggert's Medical Care & Upcoming Costs

Donation protected
Nicholas Eggert’s authentic and genuine inspiration for others is to Be Better by Overcoming Your Obstacles and Champion What You Do Have!

Nick has conquered many significant, weighty hurdles throughout his life and is now battling some enormous ones. We are asking for $10,000 to help cover Nick's medical care and upcoming costs.

CHILDHOOD CANCER MIRACLE
When Nick was just 6 years old, he was diagnosed with a very rare cancer which led to him having a tumor the size of a grapefruit in his little head! After surgery, a residual part wrapped around his facial nerve could not be removed, yet, with no medical explanation, it disappeared! As a result, Nick’s “miracle” was written up in a number of medical journals, and Nick was given a second chance at life for 35 more years!

Throughout his life, Nick withstood chemo, radiation, injections, and blood transfusions, becoming completely deaf in one ear, and almost entirely in the other, but he did not want to complain. However, Nick persevered with a determined spirit and a mindset to make a difference in other people’s lives!

DEAFNESS, MUSIC, & COMEDY
Even as a small child, Nick’s comical nature was evident! He often found humor in things he had to overcome and reached a goal to perform at least once as a standup comedian at a comedy club with jokes about his deafness! Despite his deafness, Nick also decided to learn how to play the guitar, drums, and bagpipes!

COLLEGE, CAREERS, & CHRISTIAN LIFE
He became a Certified Mechanic but was always interested in social work fields, yearning to help kids and teenagers. Even as a little boy, God has been a strong presence in Nick’s life, so he got a Degree in Ministry, a Degree in Sports and Fitness Leadership, and became ordained as a minister.

CURRENT BATTLES
Nick has worked out regularly to stay healthy. On Wednesday, August 31st, Nick planned to go work out, practice his bagpipes, and head to church to lead his youth group, where he was hired as a Youth Pastor. However, while working out, Nick collapsed and had a seizure. On the way to the hospital, his heart stopped, but he was revived. Unfortunately, they discovered a large mass (tumor) outside his skull, which is continuing to grow and spread. He has also suffered two strokes, and his entire left side is currently paralyzed.

Nick’s kindhearted, good-natured spirit has touched so many lives from many walks of life. He is incredibly beloved! Besides the Florida Gators, Chicago Bears, and Chicago Black Hawks, he loves a good prayer, so please keep them coming for Nick and his family as they navigate through this tragic time. If you wish, you may donate to help with Nick’s medical care and upcoming costs, and our warmth and love to you all!
