Nick & Melissa's Support Fund for Isabella
Donation protected
On September 11th Melissa & Nick received a call that Isabella, (Nick’s 6 year old daughter), was attacked by a “Dog du Bordeaux” (Mastiff). The dog had bit her by the right side of her face. After being rushed to Sick Kids Hospital, she was immediately taken into surgery to repair the damage.
Unfortunately, they were told that Isabella had lost most of the cartilage on the right side of her nose (leaving an opening) that would need to be repaired over numerous surgical procedures. She will need many skin grafts to repair all the soft tissue that was damaged and taken from her face & nose. Isabella will also need numerous surgeries in the future to help her look more like herself again. She has been taken out of school, due to her not wanting anyone to see her face, and wears a mask in front of everyone, including most family members. Isabella requires extensive care as she heals.
Since this horrific event, their lives have changed tremendously. Nick stayed at Sick Kids Hospital with Isabella until she was discharged to go home and has had to stay home with Isabella to care for her. It has mentally and emotionally taken a huge toll on the family, as Melissa is working as many hours as she can to help out on the financial side, as Nick stays home.
On top of the usual financial obligations that everyday life brings; there has been further financial strains.
We ask for any help that is possible from you so that it may shed a little light on the family.
Thank you for your kind thoughts and generosity, we could not be more blessed.
