Nick Falco -- Nick the Barber Funeral Expenses

On Tuesday, November 9, 2021, the Falco family lost their patriarch. Nicola “Nick” Falco, age 81, was born in Ceglie del Campo, Bari, Italy on May 13, 1940 to Savino and Anna Falco. After coming to America in his teens, Nick started his own business and married his sweetheart, Susan (Pleticha) Falco.

 

Known as “Nick the Barber” to everyone in Bensenville, Nick’s Barber Shop was a mainstay in town for more than 40 years. Everyone knew Nick and he cut hair for generations of families – always welcoming people with a smile, a story and, for the children, a piece of gum or a lollipop after their haircut. Nick’s customers would come from far and wide -- as much to hang out with Nick and watch a Cubs game – as to get a haircut. Nick would also visit Bridgeway Senior Living in Bensenville each month to give haircuts to residents. In 2010, Nick was honored with his own “Nick Falco Day” via proclamation from the Village President and Board of Trustees for the Village of Bensenville; in recognition for his years of service to the community. Nick also served as a Deacon for many years at Itasca Baptist Church in Itasca, Illinois. Nick was adored by many for his strong spirit, friendly nature and kind heart. In retirement, Nick enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grand children and great-grandchildren. He looked forward to family gatherings and enjoyed trips to restaurants for a good meal with family.

 

Nick is survived by his beloved wife Susan Falco; his five children, Savino (Sam) Falco (Janet), Nick Falco, Jr. (Jennifer), Mary (Nick) Marchese, Anthony Falco (Tina) and Tara Falco (Jimmy). Nick was preceded in death by his granddaughter Tiarra and grandson Jaime, and is survived by his grandchildren, Stephanie (Cesar), Ashley, Jessica, Jenna, Myranda, Nikko, Capri, Nick, Gerardo, Jordan, Nicky, Sergio and Peyton. Nick also adored his three great-granddaughters Giabella, Nicca and Aurora.

 

Nick was part of a large family. He was preceded in death by his father Savino, mother Anna, sister Celeste (Rocco) and brother Rocco (Teresa). He is survived by his brother Mike (Sandy), sister Betty (Cal), sister Janet (Peter) and brother Joe (Donna).

 

Visitation will take place on Sunday, November 14, 2021 at Geils Funeral Home, 180 S. York Road in Bensenville. In addition, a Celebration of Life will take place on Monday, November 15, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Itasca Baptist Church, 210 S. Walnut Street in Itasca.
