Nick Is Fighting For His Life
I’m sure by now you are well aware that our beloved Nick is fighting for his life. As a 28 year old police officer, it is hard for all of us to grasp this reality.
This past April, Nick’s 11 month old daughter Rylee was hospitalized with RSV. She recovered but her immune system was fragile, and she picked up COVID-19. While in the hospital, Rylee had a collapsed lung and pneumonia. She spent 8 1/2 days at the Children’s Hospital in Macon and was released 7/20/21.
Baby Rylee’s condition was devastating enough, but on Sunday 7/18 Nick was found unresponsive by his wife Lacy. When the ambulance arrived, his oxygen was 53% and he was in tachycardia. He was transported to Houston Medical ER.
Yesterday (7/20), the family was told Nick couldn’t keep going without being put on a ventilator. He was intubated, and then we learned that his oxygen was still too low. To help his needs, he had to be transferred to a larger hospital with an ECMO machine. This machine bypasses and “pumps up” the oxygen outside his body, putting it back in cleaner and healthier.
Currently, Nick is in Gainesville fighting--fighting for his life and the opportunity to be back with his family!
This family has been through it. They shouldn’t have to stress about finances alongside their incredibly adverse medical circumstances. Contributing to their needs could help ease their financial worries through an immensely difficult time.
● Lacy has had to take off work to care for her family.
● Nick’s insurance will not cover all costs.
● Rylee has been in the hospital 2x with two ambulance rides.
Please donate any amount you feel led; it will help each member of this beautiful family during this health crisis. And of course, please keep praying.
