Nick Frascone Recovery
Donation protected
On Thursday, July 6th, 2023, WB Nick Frascone was traveling home in his work truck when a possum ran in front of him. Nick swerved to miss the possum, blew a tire, and crashed his truck into the wooded median on Cone Boulevard in Greensboro, NC, sustaining serious injury to himself and demolishing his truck.
Nick has been an active member of Guilford Lodge #656 since 2008 and will be celebrating his 15th year as a master mason in August. He is also a Past Master of #656, and the previous winner of our Mason of the Year award. He's one of those brothers that you can count on to be present and lending a hand no matter what the occasion.
By trade, Brother Nick is a carpenter and has sustained himself and his wife Patti through his hard work and singular skill for many years. If you have ever visited us at Guilford #656, you will see evidence of Nick's craftmanship in the custom gavels he made for the lodge many years ago.
It took the Greensboro Fire Department nearly an hour to cut Nick out of his truck, during which time he hung upsidedown with a broken nose and 7 fractured vertebrae (though to hear Nick tell the story, the worst part was when they dragged him through a very large bed of poison ivy to stabilize him).
Along with his medical bills, the cost of replacing his truck and his damaged tools, the doctors have told Nick that he will not be able to work again for at least 3 months in order to make a full recovery. Any strain on his back during his recovery could cause permanent damage.
Brethren, this is a worthy mason in need. A hard-working brother who, through his kindness and caring spirit, exemplifies everything we hold dear as masons; inculcating the principles of friendship, morality, and brotherly love. He has never hesitated to help a brother in need, and it is our sworn duty, as you know, to extend to him the same.
All money collected will go straight to Nick and Patti to help Brother Nick recover from this accident until he can get back to doing the work he loves. Please donate as much as you can without injury to yourself, and pass along his story to other masons in Guilford County, to the brethren across District 23, and across the entire state of NC.
Thank you, and God Bless
