Nick Holbrook and Kassandra Pomakis

Dear friends and family, and friends and family of friends and family,

My name is Kathleen and this is my daughter, Kassandra, and her fiancé Nick Holbrook. Nick and Kassandra are going through an incredibly difficult time right now. Nick has been battling a life-long liver illness called billiary atresia. This past year he was added to the transplant waiting list. This fall, the situation escalated when he was diagnosed with liver cancer. Due to the pre-existing illness, he is not eligible for a partial transplant. It is going to require a full liver transplant which may take some time. In the interim, he is undergoing radiation treatments while they await a viable donor match. Although finances for this young couple were tight before, they are severely overburdened now. Along with the escalating inflation we are all suffering from, they are also coping with rising medical expenses and often being unable to work. Both need to take extra precautions to not overexpose themselves to others due to his compromised immune system during the cold and flu season of winter in Minnesota. To make matters worse, I am limited in what I can do to help since I am still trying to rebuild from Hurricane Ian, and Nick's mother passed away not too long ago. If there is anything you can do to help, it will be greatly appreciated.
