Nick Maddux had a Heart Transplant
After several years of severe heart issues and many close calls, my brother Nick Maddux is receiving a heart transplant and his family could not be more thankful. He has told me for several years now how he just wants to stick around and be a father for his 8-year old daughter, Grace. Now Nick is getting the chance to not only stick around for Grace, his wife, Misti, will still have the love of her husband, his three grown children(Anthony, John & Nicole) will get to keep calling him Pops and his four Grandchildren will get to play with their Papaw.
As you can imagine, getting a new heart is a long recovery process and has plenty of unexpected medical and living expenses. Once he is discharged from the hospital, Misti is required to be his primary caregiver for the 8 weeks that Nick has to live in Nashville . Those eight weeks, along with several weeks of work that Misti already missed taking care of him while he has been at Vanderbilt, will be a very long time for her to be out of work. So not only will they have the extra costs of care, their household will lose Misti's income for probably close to 3 months. Afterwards Nick will need to go back to Nashville once a month and be taking several expensive medications. Nick and his family could really use your help during this time and any donations will be much appreciated. As always we welcome any prayers too!
