Nick, Maria, and Celeste Leyva

On October 13th, a drunk driver killed Nick and Maria Leyva, and their great-granddaughter, Celeste. The accident not only took these three lives, but also severely injured the other 4 passengers in their vehicle while on their way home from the high school football game.

Nick and Maria were grandparents to Gustine’s star athlete, Zander Leyva, and Celeste was Zander’s 3 month old daughter.

Nick and Maria were a staple in our small town, best known for being at all of the high school games for decades.

Nick was an unofficial mascot, dressing up and ringing his bell, cheering his team on to victory! His outgoing personality and amazing heart had earned him a spot as the grand Marshall during homecoming parades, the cover of yearbooks, and articles written about him.

Maria was always there to give a hug and a smile to everyone she knew and even people she didn’t. Her warm kind personality brought the best out of everyone around her.

Celeste was the daughter Zander played for, he put it all on the field in hopes of making her proud.

Everyone knew them, and this coming Friday will be the first time that they’ve ever missed a game.

We are raising money to help support the funeral expenses for Zander and his girlfriend, Crystal, to bury their 3 month old daughter and to help offset the funeral expenses for the Leyva family to lay Nick and Maria to rest.
