Nick Mark Wiltz

Nick Mark Wiltz, our amazing friend, passed away on December 12, 2018 after a short, courageous battle with cancer. Not only was Mark an amazing friend, he was a beloved husband, son, father, and brother. Mark was always ready to help anyone he encountered. His simple pleasures (to name just a few) included spending time on his sailboat with the LOVE of his life, Michelle; gentle evenings with friends around a campfire; cross-country skiing; and mountain biking. Many summer nights were spent playing Bocce Ball on the beaches of Wells Island and Pacific City. Mark was an avid sailor and loved racing. Many of you may know him as a member of the Crag Rats, Hood River County's volunteer search and rescue team.

We will always remember that beautiful smile, the strum of his guitar, and the never-ending supply of laughter whenever he was around. And who can possibly forget being enveloped in one of those bear hugs that he so freely gave? Yes, Mark will be truly missed by ALL those who knew him.

Mark, like many self-employed businessman, did not have health insurance due to the exorbitant costs associated with purchasing  it independently. Until this terrible illness, he was so healthy that he rarely visited a doctor.  Mark's medical bills have created an enormous financial burden for Michelle.

Because Mark was so loved and because he has helped so many people over the years, we would like to help ease this burden for the woman who brought him so much joy in the last 2 years of his life. We intend to pay for Mark's medical bills with the generous donations to this campaign. We all know that Mark will be smiling down on us and grateful to us for looking out for Michelle!
