Nick Morris - medical bills for kidney transplant
Donation protected
Hi, I'm Nick Morris. I've been a resident of Ocean City since 1975. I was a lifeguard with the Ocean City Beach Patrol, Assateague Island and Ocean Pines. I'm a former teacher, college instructor and was a long time employee of the Alaska Stand. In December of 2018 I was diagnosed with chronic kidney failure. In 2019 I underwent surgery to help alleviate some of the problem. I was initially denied a spot on the kidney transplant list but was fortunate enough to find a paired donor willing to donate a kidney so that I can receive one from another donor that is an exact match. Fortunately I was able to defer dialysis until January of this year. I was cleared for transplant surgery only to find out at the last minute that I needed a heart surgery first. I received the heart surgery this past July and am recovering well. I have again been cleared for transplant surgery. The heart surgery greatly limited my ability to work which has created a significant financial burden along with the expenses of extensive travel to the western shore of Maryland for medical treatment. I would greatly appreciate any donation to help offset the mounting expenses associated with my kidney transplant.
