Nick Zolli Memorial
Donation protected
On December 1st, the world lost an incredible and selfless person. Friends, family and the community are grieving the unexpected passing of recently retired Novato Police Corporal Nick Zolli. Nick served the Novato community for 16 years as an Officer, Corporal, Field Training Officer, Peer Support Team member, and mental health liaison. In 2019, Nick received the Medal of Merit award after talking a suicidal person off of an overpass. Nick leaves a lasting legacy with NPD as he was a pillar in the development of new officers throughout his career- training a total of 36 new officers. Nick retired recently as a result of injuries sustained at work.
Nick's passing has placed an immense financial burden on his family, specifically his partner, Marcia, who he shared his life with for the past 23 years. Despite their deep commitment to each other, Marcia is not entitled to the same financial resources typically offered to spouses due to their unmarried status. As a result, she is now facing significant financial challenges, including the expenses related to Nick's funeral planning and services, as well as ongoing financial responsibilities.
In addition to the financial burden, Marcia has been struggling with the emotional toll of Nick's battle with the effects of his service, including the challenges of caring for him as he coped with PTSD resulting from his time in the line of duty. Throughout Nick's struggles, Marcia stood by his side, providing care and support, and now she finds herself grappling with the loss of her partner and the financial implications that have arisen as a result.
We are reaching out to our community for support during this difficult time. We are asking for donations to help cover the funeral expenses and ongoing financial needs that have arisen as a result of Nick's untimely passing. Your contributions will provide much-needed relief to Nick’s family and Marcia and ensure that they can navigate this challenging period without the additional burden of financial strain.
Nick spent his career caring for and helping others, and now it is our turn to give back in his honor. Your support will not only ease the financial hardships but will also serve as a meaningful tribute to the life and legacy of a man who dedicated himself to serving the Novato community.
