Nicki's Cancer Journey - Long Road to Recovery

Nicki was diagnosed with Cancer in July and has since suffered many setbacks. She is still in the ICU at Mayo-Rochester. She has a VERY long road of recovery ahead of her. All money raised will go directly to Nicki for medical costs and other bills that she's unable to pay due to being out of work for the foreseeable future. We hope to help ease her financial burden so that she can strictly focus on her recovery! We greatly appreciate all the prayers and support!

Nicki has, unfortunately, been on a roller-coaster ride that seems to be never-ending. Her whipple procedure went very well. On July 26th, her whipple involved the removal of her entire pancreas, gallbladder, and spleen...and parts of her stomach and intestines. Unfortunately, the day after her surgery, she suffered a heart attack. An angiogram was performed and determined her heart was in very bad shape and quadruple bypass was recommended. However, due to her heart attack, she was on heparin and started to have internal bleeding from surgical sites from her whipple procedure. She ended up with multiple blood transfusions. Yesterday, the cardiac team decided quadruple bypass was too risky and decided to place stents instead. The surgery went well yesterday. However, today, she is experiencing internal bleeding again and is miserable. She is very anxious and exhausted. Her sisters have been by her side constantly. She has also been visited by many other family members who come whenever able. On her behalf and ours, we just want to thank everyone for all the continued thoughts, calls, texts, visits, food, and support. Please keep prayers coming her way, for strength, perseverance, and healing. She needs every single one.
