Hi,
Im Nick Jones.
I am 50 years old - a number I was told I wouldn't make when i was diagnosed with terminal heart failure.
I have been fighting this since 2012 after a small stroke I was later diagnosed with malignant hypertension, only 1% of the population suffer from this horrible condition so very little is known about it. But what is known to me and others is the terrible effects this has on one and family, blood pressure of around 200/150 as a constant makes life unbearable and strangely the sufferer does not present as terminal. But the sad fact is for every day I am scared is my last and this is compounded by medics that are dumbfounded by the effects this illness has on my body and its eventual outcome.
I have been fighting this condition daily and the effects make at times life day to day hard to bear, lack of knowledge and lack of support for this condition makes it even more distressing to myself and to my family.
However I continue to do as only I know and fight on I work 7 days and nights a week and immerse myself in helping others in what I have experienced and what my own children are going to suffer.
I have now made my assent on Everest Base Camp and despite being told I would NOT return I have! Now I face the prospect of continuing this fight and I will.
March 2019 I will tackle Mount Kilimanjaro at a height of 5895 meters, and I know many people ask why? Well this illness dictates I have no rest bite and sadly for me very little in effective pain relief from heart failure and AF.
So my day to day plan is to drive and push to create this Foundation, again I must remind everyone I nor my children unlike other Go Fund me pages gain a anything from this immense effort, my drive is to help ALL effected by LOSS.
Thank you for all time and support in this campaign.
Nick
