Nick’s Speedy Recovery

Hey everyone,

I am asking for your help on my road to recovery!

Over the July 4th holiday, I had a severe accident on Lake Travis. I had a misstep off the top story of a dock and fell nearly 15 ft onto my back. I suffered a T-10 burst fracture, T-9/10 dislocation, and C2 - T12 epidural hematoma. Thanks to quick action of friends and family, I was taken by helicopter to the top trauma hospital in Austin. Shortly after being admitted to the ER, I was rushed to surgery, which was deemed very successful, but there is still a long road ahead.

For those who know me, I am a fun, intelligent, passionate, and caring individual. Anything I set my mind to, I invest 100% of my effort. The next chapter of my journey is going to be remarkably difficult, as there is so much unknown. Currently, I have no feeling from my bellybutton to my toes. I am not able to perform everyday functions like walking, using the restroom, etc. However, my arms are fully functioning! Hopefully, I will regain feeling and mobility in my lower extremities. I am praying for a speedy and full recovery - where there is a will there is a way!
