Support the Lyons Den in Memory of Nick
Donation protected
In honor of Nick, a Siamese cat from Pittsburgh, PA, who met an untimely end at the age of 3 due to feline lymphoma, we are raising funds to help the 99 Lives Cat Whole Genome Sequencing Initiative. Dr Lyons, of the University of Missouri, is working to map the genome of 99 cats. This research will help to find genetic mutations and variants responsible for diseases and to conquer health problems such as lymphoma, polycystic kidney disease and spinal muscular atrophy - diseases that affect both cats and humans. The cost to map the genes of just one cat is $8,000 - lets memorialize Nick by funding the mapping of one genome! This can help many cats in the future to not suffer disease like Nick did. This is a wonderful legacy for Nick to leave. Thank you all so much for your donations!
