Nicola Bell

Hi to all the amazing people that have donated. Just spoke to our wonderful friend Nicola Bell and she is in good spirits after her second round of chemotherapy yesterday.

She is overwhelmed at the amount raised and this will really help her financially as she takes the time off work and doesn’t have to worry about paying her bills and can recieve her treatment to recover. We all can not thank you enough.

Hi all, we have created this go fund me page to support our amazing friend who has recently been diagnosed with Primary peritoneal cancer (PPC) stage 3.

Many in Wilsden will know Nicola as one of the village childminders, a regular on the school run at Wilsden Primary, and a familiar face at the local toddler groups. This includes the one she runs with myself and Louise, Wiltots Trinity Church.

Last year Nicola was nominated as one of Wilsden village hero’s. This was not only for all the help and support she provided her families with, but all the recognition for her volunteer contributions to Wilsden community baby and toddler groups.

During Christmas 2022, at a time when winter bugs were at there peak, Nicola became unwell. Taking longer to recover than normal, she popped to the doctors. Convinced she had gall stones, the GP referred her for blood tests, scans and ultrasounds. Whilst waiting for a CT scan, Nicolas health deteriorated resulting in a couple trips to A and E and further tests, eventually confirming her diagnosis.

This devastating news has turned Nicola, her daughter Ruby, her wider family and friends lives upside down.

The families and children that have been in Nicolas’s setting over the past 14 years mean the world to her. Sadly as she embarks on her journey to get well, she has no alternative but to temporarily close her business.

Being self employed, with a single income makes this a very worrying time. To allow Nicola to concentrate on fighting this terrible illness, we are hoping to raise some money to make her life a little more comfortable and lighten the financial load during this challenging time. Therefore anything that anyone can give will be greatly appreciated.
