For all the people that know me, never would I have thought I would be starting a Go 'fund me' for my brother.  When we hear of someone having cancer, we often tell ourselves ''this will never happen to me, that’s what we thought, but life can be unfair and very unpredictable. As much as we are trying to understand why this has happened to such a perfect individual, we also need to be proactive. .

Nicolas Politis Son, husband, father, uncle, brother, cousin, friend was diagnosed with Stage IV (metastatic) Pancreatic adenocarcinoma in February 2017.  A trip to the emergency on Feb 5 with abdominal pain lead to the diagnoses and since then it has been an emotional roller coaster. We hoped the tumour was benign, it wasn't. We hoped it hadn't spread, it did.  We hope it was different cancers because it would be easily treated, it wasn't. We hoped it wasn't generalized, it was. We hoped there was something to do to cure this horrendous disease, there wasn't.

What people don't often talk about is the emotional and internal pain it causes to be betrayed by your own body. To have people tell you everyday tips and tricks to cure cancer, why chemo is bad, why it's good, what he should eat, not eat. The internal battle that is accompanied by this illness is probably worse than the illness itself.

When we were told with terrible news, my brother weighed the pros and cons decided to start chemo (March 13 2017), as the doctor says, 'extend his life'.

My brother has not been only dealing with tremendous pain which controlled with a Cad pump, but with emotional effect of being diagnosed with a terminal cancer.

This being said, my brother wasn’t working at the time of his diagnoses his wife is off on personal leave from myself and my parents have been providing as much emotional and financial help as we can. My brother very soon will be at a point where he will need help. We are in the process of applying for disability insurance but until then, please fund me.

The money will be used to help her keep up with his regular life, hospital parking, medication, as well as him not working & potentially exploring options of getting treated through alternative medicine and trials .We are still doing research, if you have any advice for us please post a comment on the campaign.

Thank you all for your help and prayers. We will keep you posted weekly on his developments. Please pray for us, send us your love and positive energy.
