Nicole Coleman Funeral & Memorial Fund

Donation protected
In the late afternoon of New Year’s Eve 2018, the body of Nicole Diane Coleman, 23, was found abandoned in a wooded area of Austin, Texas. Her death has been ruled a homicide, and police are actively investigating. At present, it is unknown how she encountered her assailant.

Nicole had intermittent mental health issues, and she was released from a psychiatric hospital two weeks before her death. She was living in a safe home with three other women, where she was free to come and go. She was using the time to decide whether to remain in Austin, or to return to the Houston area where her immediate family lives.

Nicole’s family is devastated, especially her parents, Mike and Dawn, and her older and younger sisters, who adore her. Although her parents have been divorced for many years, they have remained close and celebrate family events together. The family is fortunate to have each other to rely upon, but their lives have been changed forever.

Nikki was a bright, warm, loving young woman. Despite her mental health challenges, she completed her AA degree at Lone Star College with a 4.0 average. She was a wonderful writer and poet. She spent Christmas Eve with her grandmother, and Nicole told her how much she loved her mother and sisters, how fortunate she was that her dad was always there for her, and how she loved him.

My name is Stephanie Coleman from The Woodlands, Texas. I am Nicole’s aunt, and Mike’s sister. I am setting up this fund to assist with the arrangements for Nicole; time off from work for her parents and sisters now as they recover from this shock, and potentially later, when the person or persons who so violently took Nicole from us is arrested and goes through the legal system.

Any unused funds will be donated to NAMI, the National Alliance on Mental Illness.

The Austin media is keeping their focus on Nicole's story in the hopes that if someone has information, they will come forward.
