Nicole Elliott

Our dear friend and incredible mom of Ben & Alex was recently diagnosed with brain cancer. Since the beginning of summer, Nicole has been hospitalized 3 times and had 2 brain surgeries. On August 6, a malignant tumor was removed.  She has since started a daily regimen of chemotherapy and radiation which will last for a total of 6 weeks if all goes well. Her sons have been coming to help her along with friends and relatives, for which she is grateful. Her attitude remains positive and she continues to smile.

This condition is exacerbated by the fact that she was diagnosed with mitochondrial disease just over a decade ago.  Because of this disease, Nicole has for years been unable to drive or work outside of the home.  Despite debilitating fatigue, characteristic of her condition, Nicole completed her master’s degree in Clinical Nutrition in an effort to help herself and others. In recent years she has counseled clients on nutrition for complex health issues and practiced Reiki from an office in her home. As a result of the medications and treatment, she is unable to work just when medical bills and related expenses are accruing.

Nicole has always been very independent and self-sufficient. She raised her two sons as a single mom and is always helping others. Needless to say, it took a lot of persuasion to get her to agree to this. We simply want to help this wonderful human with the financial burden she faces so that she can focus on getting healthy again.
