Nicole Favard EBC Scholarship Fund

I’m running the NYC Marathon this 6 November—in honor of my very dear friend, Nicole, who passed away last year. For all of us who were lucky enough to work with her or be in her classroom— past and present staff, peeps, and admin, her death was not only a loss of an educator who went above and beyond, it was the loss of a gentle, warm, thoughtful, humorous human being. When peeps needed her—she was always there. The young men always greeted her with a kiss to her cheek; sought her advice; listened to her stern but loving lectures. Young women loved her as well—she always gave her care and heart freely to the students who needed it most. I cannot describe in words how her warmth and love are missed by so many. I’m running this marathon to honor her memory and to create a scholarship for an EBC-Bushwick High School student. Nicole wanted the peeps to have the best—the best education; the best in self-confidence; the best of opportunities in life. I hope, if you can, join me and her dear sister and mom, in celebrating her memory and creating a scholarship in her name.
