Nicole & Michelle's Fire Recovery
Donation protected
At midnight, January 19 a fire started on the upper level of a 3 floor building. My sister Nicole, lived two doors down from the fire. My sister Michelle was in the process of moving in.
Once the fire alarms went off, they went to check outside the windows/in the hallway and the fire had already spread rapidly. The hallway was black and filled with smoke. They grabbed their pets (Cindy, a dog, and Princess, a cat) and ran for their lives.
They escaped with nothing except the clothes on their backs and the pets.
They have not received word yet on the condition of their apartment but it is safe to assume it is destroyed. Either from the smoke damage (a patio door was left open) or water damage (media reports excessive water damage in the building).
Just a few months ago our mother Linda passed away from breast cancer. She was cremated. Her urn was left behind. Now nothing remains of her in this world.
Nicole and Michelle currently have accommodations but they do not have food. Michelle was in the process of moving and had already cleared out the cupboards and fridge. So we would like to use the money to start with filling up the fridge, freezer and pantries. Nicole will need basically everything. Clothing, toiletries, just literally everything.
They will also be needing to move for March, as the current place is a small bedroom studio apartment and they will need a larger place to accommodate both them and the pets.
The pets will also need vet check ups from inhaling smoke, and they need more food. Cindy is on a specialized diet.
