Nicole Scherzer~Lung Surgery August 15th at UofM
Donation protected
Hi everyone!
My name is Stacie and I’m setting up this fundraiser to help my niece, Nicole Scherzer, as she recovers from lung surgery.
As some of you already know, Nicole was recently diagnosed with Congenital Pulmonary Airway Malformations (CPAM).
This is a cystic lung disease that causes abnormal growth and mass like cysts throughout usually only one lung. These cysts cause many respiratory issues, frequent lung infections like pneumonia, difficulty breathing, etc.
On May 3rd, Nicole was taken to the Grayling ER which is where she was diagnosed with Congenital Pulmonary Airway Malformation, pneumonia, and abscessed cysts of the lung.
She was ambulanced from Grayling to Munson Medical Center in Traverse City where was placed in the ICU for 5 days.
Unfortunately, there is no cure and the only option left is a lobectomy, If not she will only continue to get sick.
The third lobe of her right lung is scheduled to be removed August 15th 2023 at University of Michigan Hospital.
She will be unable to work for around 2 months after surgery and has already taken a financial cut since being sick.
Nicole doesn’t like to ask for help. She’s extremely hard working and caring of others.
She always helps out anyone whenever she can.
Her family just wants to help take added stress off her financially so she can rest and heal as she deserves.
Thank you for your donations and prayers in advance!!
