Hieronder een update waar jullie uiteraard recht op hebben.

Het gaat goed met mij. Inmiddels ben ik een aantal keren naar Duderstadt geweest om bloed af te nemen en te laten bewerken en uiteindelijk voor een behandeling.

Afgelopen zomer kon ik de chemokuur niet verdragen maar nu lijkt de combinatie met de Duitse therapie ervoor te zorgen dat ik ook de chemokuren verdraag. Daarnaast ga ik regelmatig naar Dr. Kwee in Amsterdam in verband met traditionele Chinese geneeskunde en ga ik vrijwel wekelijks naar Rob Tenbrinck in Rotterdam in verband met lidocaïne-infusen. Al met al zakt de tumormarker en voel ik me goed. Kennelijk werkt deze combinatie van therapieën erg goed bij mij en zou ik graag op deze manier door willen gaan. Dit traject is echter erg kostbaar en ik ben heel blij met alle steun die ik al heb ontvangen. Ik hoop dat jullie me ook willen blijven steunen in mijn strijd.

Y de pronto, la vida de Nicole se detiene…

Nicole van Leeuwen inicia su trabajo en KLM como azafata en el 2018, un sueño que se hace realidad luego de décadas en la industria de turismo en España y de haber trabajado algunos años en el bufete de abogados Benthem Gratama en Holanda; país donde reside actualmente, en la ciudad de Zwolle. Como azafata ella vuela a través del mundo, actividad que la hace sentir que ha encontrado su felicidad. Nicole tiene su vida en orden en todo aspecto, su sueño es avanzar laboralmente en KLM para convertirse en sobrecargo. Ella es madre soltera, su hijo Jordi no lleva mucho tiempo fuera de casa, recientemente se mudó a vivir con su pareja Maartje.

Hace medio año, le empezó un dolor persistente en el estómago, sin embargo, luego de muchas pruebas médicas, le dijeron que no tenía nada por qué preocuparse. Exámenes en el estómago, intestino y en hígado no mostraron nada. ¿Tal vez podrían ser piedras en el riñón?

Hasta el 06 de julio de 2023… resultó ser cáncer en el páncreas. Una operación no es viable. Su vida se detiene…

Luego de años de ser una voluntaria comprometida como defensora de pacientes con cáncer en la organización Inspire2Live sucede lo imposible, ella misma se convirtió en paciente. Sin embargo,

Nicole quiere luchar y demostrar que también puedes lograr buenos resultados con tus propios conocimientos y un espíritu de lucha. ¡Ella solo quiere vivir!

Nicole se ha dedicado a buscar e investigar toda oportunidad de mejorarse. Ella ha contactado a Immucura- que junto a la quimioterapia- le provee la posibilidad de someterse a una terapia con células dendríticas. De este modo se activa el sistema inmunológico para combatir las células cancerosas. Hay ensayos científicos que ya han mostrado resultados muy positivos. Desafortunadamente, los tratamientos son muy caros. Se necesita €50.000,00 euros. Estos costos no son reembolsados por el servicio sanitario y deben llevarse por cuenta propia. A pesar de esto, ella quiere tomar esta oportunidad que se le ofrece, ¡ella quiere vivir, ella quiere sobre todo poder estar ahí para su hijo y ella quiere seguir volando a través del mundo! ¿Quiere usted ayudarla?

And just like that Nicole’s life comes to a halt…

In 2018 Nicole van Leeuwen starts her career as a stewardess at KLM, a dream that becomes a reality after decades working in the Spanish tourism industry and after a few years working at the Benthem and Gratama law-firm in Zwolle, where she lives. As a stewardess she ‘flies’ all over the world and seems to have found her happiness. Her life is on track. Her dream is to grow within KLM to become a purser. She is a single mom and it hasn’t been long since her son Jordi moved out of the house with her partner Maartje.

Although she had been suffering from a persistent stomachache for the past six months, all tests to find out what is wrong in her stomach, intestines and liver came out negative so, she continuously heard that there was nothing to be worried about. Perhaps it could be kidney stones?

Until July of 2023… It turns out to be pancreatic cancer. Operating is not possible. Her life comes to a halt. After years of being a committed volunteer at Inspire2Live to stand up for cancer patients, the impossible happens. She has become a patient herself. However, Nicole wants to fight and show that also through your own knowledge and a strong attitude you can get a good result. She wants nothing more than stay alive!

In order to increase her chances, she investigates all opportunities out there to become better. She reaches out to Immucura that offers her the opportunity to undergo dendritic cell therapy -next to the chemotherapy-. This way, her immune system is activated to fight the cancer cells. This form of therapy has already shown promising results in clinical trials. Unfortunately, this treatment is very expensive. The cost is €50.000 euro. Additionally, this treatment is not reimbursed by the healthcare system, so it has to be paid out of pocket. But she wants to grab every chance she gets, she wants to live, above all else, she wants to be there for her son, and she wants to continue flying! Will you help her?
