Help Nicole fight for her life!!!

On May 3, 2008, Nicole's life was changed forever. Little did she know, that a fun night on vacation, would alter the course of her life. After falling and breaking her foot in 7 places, she was shortly introduced to CRPS/RSD, otherwise known as the "suicide disease". Complex Reginal Pain Syndrome, once known as Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy is a disabling chronic pain condition that affects the sympathetic nervous system. It's caused by a MINOR trauma that usually affects a limb, but can spread to the entire body. When she broke her foot, it triggered a neurological response and CRPS reared its ugly head.

Prior to her injury, Nicole lived a full, active, fun and most importantly, a dedicated life to teaching. Her one true passion in life was educating children about the beauty of science, specifically marine biology. Nicole was a director of a marine science facility in Florida for many years and was singlehandedly responsible for teaching over 6000 students annually. Her love for nature was infectious and her students developed a greater appreciation for the world around them due to her never ending enthusiasm.
Much like Nicole's exuberance for teaching, her passion for life was mirrored in the lifelong friendships she has made all over the world. She has never met a stranger; to know Nicole is to love her. She has always been the rock within her circles of friends, and for many has been their constant. Her generosity and love for anyone that has come into her life has not only been admirable, but amazing. Not to mention, how freaking hilarious she is even when she is battling this ferocious disease.
Nicole's life has been turned upside down, but her positive attitude as never faltered. The enormous amount of pain she endures on a daily basis is something that would probably kill an ordinary person. The surgeries and treatments that she has already endured has not only caused a huge financial burden, but has dampened the once vibrant person we all know and love. She is imprisoned by her body.
If you know Nicole, asking for help is something she would never do, yet if anyone else needed help, she would be right there. She needs our help now. With changes in her health care coverage, she in unable to afford the necessary treatments, therapies and medications that may pave the road for her to get back to some kind of healthy and pain free life.

A little bit of help will go a long way...10 years of agony is enough and she needs us to help her break out of her CRPS prison so we can get our Nicole back! Thank you for reading and whatever you can give is so appreciated.
