In Memory of Nicole Spirit

On December 27th, 2016 at 8:05pm, the world lost a very special person.
Nicole Anna Spirit was in a car accident on December 17th that resulted in a severe brain injury. She passed away 10 days later due to the severity of that injury. At just 32 years old, this was a sudden and heartbreaking loss for her friends and family, and anyone that’s ever come in contact with Nicole.
She was a passionate, hard-working and an inspirational woman who lived every day to the fullest. She taught biology at Shawnee High School, where she was adored by her students, had a Bachelors Degree in Large Animal Science from Delaware Valley University and was in the middle of completing her masters in Biology at Rutgers. Aside from school and her career as a teacher, Nicole spent most of her time raising animals on her farm in New Jersey. Not a second of her day was wasted and every minute was truly treasured.
As if her personality wasn’t already something to be admired, she also fought Leukemia for 5 long years, coming out completely cancer free in 2013. And instead of being beaten down, she came out of this traumatic experience with a zest for life and eagerness to make a difference in other people’s lives.
We’ve created this GoFundMe fundraiser to help her husband, Billy and Nicole’s family with funeral costs and the unexpected expenses that come with a sudden loss like this. Any excess money will be donated to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and the Animal Welfare Association Inc, two of Nicole’s greatest passions.
For those who want to pay their respects, a memorial service will be held on Friday, December 30th from 9am to 12pm at LeRoy P. Wooster Funeral Home & Crematory in Atco, NJ (441 White Horse Pike, Atco, NJ 08004).
As her family, we sincerely appreciate your love and support. Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts.
