Join the Global Journey to Uncover Nursing’s Hidden Legacy
Dear Friends and Colleagues,
I hope this letter finds you in great health and spirits. As the founder of Nurses In Charge NIC , I have had the privilege of witnessing how the nursing profession impacts lives across the globe. Yet, I am increasingly aware that much of nursing’s rich history, especially the untold stories of those who shaped the field, remains undiscovered and undocumented.
Sitting at home, searching the web, has made it clear to me: there is so much more to learn. That’s why I have decided to take action and embark on a global tour to uncover the historical imprint of nursing—stories that have never been studied or shared with the world. I will start in Liberia and move across other countries to bring this vital history to light.
This is an ambitious project, and I’m calling on stakeholders like you to join me in making it possible. I am seeking volunteers, resources, connections, and financial donations to help fund this exciting endeavor. The major costs for the project have already been covered, but we need an additional $35,000 to fully support the journey.
Here are the various amounts you can donate to support the NIC Tour:
• $25: Support local community outreach during the tour.
• $50: Help fund educational materials and resources for nursing institutions.
• $100: Contribute to the documentation and preservation of nursing history.
• $250: Assist with travel costs between key historical sites.
• $500: Sponsor research and interviews with nursing professionals in one country.
• $1,000: Fund media production to share the stories of nursing’s historical impact.
• $2,500: Support partnerships with local historians, universities, and healthcare institutions.
• $5,000: Help expand the tour’s reach to multiple countries, preserving even more untold stories.
• $10,000: Become a key sponsor of the NIC Tour, ensuring that the history of nursing is shared worldwide.
Every donation brings us closer to our goal of $35,000. Your support will help make this groundbreaking project a reality!
As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, all donations made to NIC are tax-deductible. Donations can be made directly to our Bank of America account (details provided upon request), and every contribution—no matter the size—will help bring this vision to life.
We also need videographers, producers, investors, and connectors to help capture the journey and share it with the world. Your expertise and resources will help preserve and share the rich history of nursing with future generations.
This is more than just a tour; it’s a global movement to document and celebrate the profession that has shaped the world’s healthcare systems for centuries. The first leg of the tour will take place from December 1 to December 31, 2024, starting in Liberia. I would be honored to have you on board as part of this journey.
You will receive regular feedback and updates throughout the project, ensuring that you are actively involved in making this historical discovery possible.
Thank you for considering being a part of this important project. Together, we can ensure that the untold stories of nursing professionals are shared with the world.
Warm regards,
Dr. Nyempu Karmue-Hall DNP, FNP
