NICU and hospital expenses
Donation protected
Jillian and Ty have had baby Safia (IVF baby) two months early after Jillian had to stay in the hospital for 3 weeks with severe preeclampsia (high blood pressures). On 9/19 Jillian’s blood pressures became uncontrolled and had to go for an emergent c-section.
Baby Safia joined us struggling to breath and has been in the NICU on CPAP (pressurized air to keep her lungs and airway open). She was intubated (breathing tube) for a short period of time while they gave her surfactant (a medication to help her lungs) after the meds she took it upon herself to rip the tube out. Since she had gotten the medication, the Dr decided to give her another chance before intubating again.
The morning of 9/20 Safia is still on CPAP and improving, but will be in the NICU for up to 1-2 months. Jillian is off magnesium and her blood pressures are improving, but still requiring oral medication to keep them down.
Over all, mom and baby are doing well but have long roads of healing ahead. Baby Safia took a lot of love and science to get here here. Between egg retrieval, IVF, preeclampsia, 3+ week stay in the hospital, emergent c-section and a continuing NICU stay, any help is appreciated.
Thank you all for your love and support!
