NICU fundraiser for Lily's first birthday!

Baby Lily made a dramatic entrance into the world following a checkup for reduced foetal movements on August 6th 2022. Born by emergency C-section at 30 weeks, weighing 2lbs 4ozs, she needed immediate life-saving blood transfusions and was placed on a ventilator machine.

Lily spent 7 feisty weeks in hospital, initially in Neonatal Intensive Care, then in the High Dependency Unit, the Special Care Baby Unit and finally Transitional Care.

We never think we will need them, and can easily take their service for granted, but the staff of the Neonatal Unit were there, day and night, with their superb expertise and their kindness. They saved Lily’s life as soon as she was born, and kept her alive when she was extremely poorly.

Fast forward 11 months and Lily is a very happy, giggling, thriving wee one (toy for size).

The Neonatal Unit of Leeds Teaching Hospitals Trust has a Wishlist of items to further enhance their care of the tiniest and sickest babies and their families. What we can gift depends upon how much money we can raise.
