Dear friends and family,

I’ve set up this Go Fund Me to see if I can raise even a small amount to put towards my Dad’s farewell.

The service will be small and simple, but as I’m sure many of you know, even small funerals rack up a substantial bill. Dad has stipulated in his will that he wishes to be buried, which of course has increased that bill significantly. I’ve found him a standard plot in Karrakatta Cemetery which, for those of you reading this in the UK, is Perth’s major metropolitan cemetery. Dad also has some ancestors buried there, so there will be some other Mansfields to keep him company.

If anyone reading this would like to make a contribution toward his farewell, please know that any donation - even just the amount that you might otherwise have spent on a bunch of flowers or a card - would be so gratefully received. Anything I receive will be spent directly on Dad’s farewell, and nothing else. In the unlikely event that we raise more than the cost of the funeral, I will be donating that profit to a mental health charity or alcohol and drug rehabilitation service local to Perth. I haven’t decided which one yet (I have a bit of research to do) but for transparency I will of course post updates here along the way.
