Sorry about the stutter... I hope you enjoyed the opening scenes in our story. I think it pretty cool how a script will adapt, as Marcus tries to make sense of was just words on a screen. It's not just that, Marcus is doing all the Character design, panel layout, speech bubbles, lettering, pencil, inking, coloring, and a few other absolutely necessary things I'm sure I'm missing. All the art, in every way, is Marcus Lake.
This GoFundMe is to raise money to complete this story. Aaron and Richie we're lucky enough to find the incredible artist, Marcus Lake, through mutual friends. Even though Marcus is giving us a fantastic rate, and worth every penny, it still will cost $10,000 to pay for the art for this project. With this we can pay for the significant amount of time it will take to complete this story in six, 28 page issues. The first issue is finished and is under review at e-publishers. Any money we manage to raise beyond our goal will go into printing, web domain, and online store hosting costs.
Issue one and two are paid for. Issue two is being illustrated currently and will be out May 15th.
The breakdown goes at follows:
- 4 comics at 28 pages each= 112 pages.
- 112 pages at $75= $8400
- The $1600 left will help with printing and shipping costs.
- $500 will be used to to create a website to sell upcoming issues and Were-Elk merch.
- At $400 for 100 issues we will be able to print and ship our thank you gifts to all who contributed here.

-THE CREATORS-
Aaron and Richie met 16 years ago touring rural areas performing stand-up comedy. As the miles added up the two decided to write a zombie movie script together. The process of writing was a blast, so much so Wagner packed his bags. Aaron moved from Milwaukee Wisconsin to Richie's home town of Portland Oregon so they continue telling original, irreverent and funny stories. Inspired by the characters they met playing small towns in the middle of nowhere, and a near death experience Richie had on a road trip to Idaho, they created the story of Night of the Were-Elk.
-ABOUT THE AUTHORS-
- Richie Stratton has been performing stand-up comedy since 2003 touring across the country telling jokes and pounding shots. Now over a 18 months sober, Richie can be found somewhere acting, performing, and writing. He is currently a regular host of Sinferno Cabaret and Kit Kat Club in Portland, Or.
- Aaron Wagner started booking a variety of shows over twenty years ago. He started in standup comedy shortly after. He met Richie Stratton on a comedy tour and they've been writing numerous projects ever since. Aaron continues to be involved in entertainment while teaching in the public schools.
-ABOUT THE ILLUSTRATOR-
- Marcus Lake, Ten thousand hours and still too stubborn to use good refs, Marcus Lake is drawing as foreheads are to brick walls. He enjoys pesto gnocchi, electro breaks, wool socks and hard sci-fi. Also a joke about your mom, I'll let the authors write it.
