Nikki Holmes Life Tribute & Memorial Gifts

Donation protected
It is with tremendous sorrow that I share that my beautiful sister, Nicole Michele Holmes, passed away during the evening of Wednesday, December 20, 2023. Nikki was surrounded by her loved ones in her final moments and departed peacefully without struggle.

Born December 14, 1980, Nikki led a life of love, light, and compassion. Her children Alex and Shawn were the greatest gifts she ever received, and they brought brightness to her every day. She was a talented flutist in the Lower Dauphin High School marching band, class of 1999, and also a proud performer in the color guard. She was known by many in the Middletown community during her long tenure at Giant Food Stores.

In recent years, Nikki struggled profoundly with kidney disease, requiring frequent dialysis treatments and constant medical evaluation. Her kidney issues were made more severe by a COVID infection she acquired in November of this year, which led to her hospitalization. Pneumonia formed, requiring mechanical ventilation, accompanied by constant dialysis. Sepsis took hold, causing her even more harm. Her body was simply unable to overcome the various medical ailments that kept arising in these final weeks. We know her mental resolve was strong, but her physical strength could not endure the overwhelming attacks on her organs.

Due to Nikki’s medical challenges, she was not able to work in her end stages of life. She was the sole provider for her wonderful children, Alex and Shawn. Her kids have had to say farewell to their mom much sooner than they should have. Nikki didn’t have life insurance resources to assist with final expenses.

Our family asks for your prayers during this incredibly difficult time. We also humbly ask for the blessing of any gifts you can share to assist with Nikki’s final expenses. A gift of any size, small or large, is so deeply appreciated. Any donations will help Alex and Shawn in laying their mom to eternal rest, and help them transition to a more stable future.

We will share the details about Nikki’s celebration of life services as soon as they are finalized.

Our family is deeply grateful for the outpouring of love, support, prayers, visits to Nikki, and well wishes from those near and far. You can’t know how much we love you all for your comments, phone calls, texts, and cards.

Sharing this post to all those who knew and loved Nikki is immensely appreciated. She touched so many people in this world, and her absence will be felt deeply by all.

Thank you for the blessings of your love, care, and concern for our family as we grieve the passing of a loving mother, sister, daughter, niece, cousin, and friend to so many.

Rest in eternal peace, Nik. We all love you so very much. Until we meet again.
