Nikki's Colombia Fundraiser

Dear friends and family, My name is Nicole Taggart and I am a Silver Knight Nominee for the Miami Herald. Part of my nomination process is to make an impact on the world. I have a heart for reaching out to the needy. Colombia is where I’m going to continue my humanitarian effort. My purpose for this project is to advance the learning system of a small, impoverished school in Columbia. The Institución Educativa Los Andes was built in 1962. It is located in the Department of Caquetá, Município de Florencia, Colômbia. The school has 600 children, from 5K through high school. Several years ago, a severe flood devastated the city. As a result, this school, like many other schools in Florencia, have been poverty stricken and are struggling to meet their needs. The Institución Educativa Los Andes is in great need of educational materials and resources for their students. The primary goal is to raise $16,000 in order to purchase the following equipment:· 20 Computers· 30 Tablets· 2 TVs for the deaf· 2 Projectors· 1 Video CameraAs a result, I am seeking donations to assist in this endeavour. Currently, children have limited access to the world outside of their community. Giving a student access to a computer could open their minds to a world the would not have had access to. This is a tremendous opportunity for you to have a life changing impact on the life of a child and even their family.Consequently, giving them the chance of a lifetime to lead a successful life.
