Nikki's Glioblastoma Fight Fund

Hi, we are Sam Jourden (Nicole's brother) and Janet Doyle (Nikki's sister-in-law, Mike's sister). We are reaching out to all of Nikki Reed's friends and family to rally around her and her family during her courageous battle!

Friends and Family, this is a post that we knew would come eventually, but we all thought we had more time. Our valiant fighter Nikki, has taken the path of peace.

Nikki passed away quietly and peacefully Sunday, March 10th, surrounded by love. She did all she could to fight this awful disease and did not suffer in the end. She was the most amazing daughter, sister, wife, mother, friend and teacher. The world will be less bright without her in it.

The family, and Nikki's closest friends who have become like extended family, would like to thank you all for donating, sending meals, visiting, checking in, helping out and just being there for all of us during this tragic time.

We will celebrate Nikki’s life as she would have wanted and will share more details when ready. For now, please keep us in your thoughts and prayers. We’re going to miss our sweet Nikki, but please know she felt all of your love, and so do we. For that, we thank you.

On the 4th of July, Nikki spent the day at the pool with her family. That evening she had difficulty getting her contact out of her left eye and her earrings out. The next morning, she noticed more weakness on her left side. After a doctors appointment and further weakness, she went to the ER and a brain CT revealed a mass, which has now been determined to be a glioblastoma brain tumor. While these are not curable, they are treatable.

In addition to the brain mass, scans have revealed an incidental finding of a sternal mass as well. While this is not as emergent at this time, it will also require intervention and treatment.

She is feeling motivated to fight like hell to be here for her 6-month-old miracle baby, Eli and her beautiful 5-year-old daughter, Sylvia. Also, her husband Mike who she has planned to grow old with!

With the state of the art medical care and the love from her family and friends, Nikki truly is in the best hands possible! With this, her strong attitude and her young age, she has many options and tools available to keep her healthy for as long as possible. However, with this fight will come the extra costs of countless treatments, procedures, medications, strict dietary needs, childcare as well as care for Nikki. Unfortunately, not all of the tools available are covered by insurance. This GoFundMe was started to provide a way for family, friends and community to help Nikki have the best care and least stress possible during this difficult time. We thank you for your support.
