Nikki’s kidney transpla nt and medical help

Donation protected
Hi everyone! Marengo tattoo and piercings artist and shop manager is going through some major medical issues. Nikki Schultz was diagnosed a year ago with stage 4 kidney disease and currently has 18 percent kidney function. She is facing a transplant in the very near future. Looking like it will be mid to end of February. Luckily her brother in law has been tested and is a match.he will be her living donor. David is amazing for giving such a gift.
As well as this she has been going through eye laser treatments for her eyes to stop bleeds in her vitreous gel in her eyes. She has scar tissue built up in her left eye with active bleeds and the laser helps stop the bleeds as well as breaks up the scar tissue. At this point she has scar tissue built up around her retina. So the doctor is doing all he can to avoid a detached retina or a major eye surgery to remove the scar tissue. However a surgery may have to happen. This is called a macula pucker.
There is also some concern with her heart because a lot of the meds and kidney disease have caused high blood pressure and put her at risk for some major heart issues.
She was off most of November for av fistula surgery that was possibly needed for hemodialysis. Well that ended up not working. So she was out of work for nothing that month sadly.
Also had and has to go through some dental work to be cleared for transplant.
As you would think the costs of everything is very overwhelming even with her insurance. Bills and financial obligations are also causing a lot of stress due to missing many days at work.
She has been an upstanding citizen in our community, a Marengo resident and alumni.  She supports our community and our events in many ways from helping to donating her time as an artist for events and fundraisers. We really need everyone’s help to stand up and support her in this time. Any little bit can help and would be beyond appreciated. We are starting the goal at 10,000 dollars but this could change as bills and financial issues arise. Thank you all for taking the time to read this lengthy message but it is an overwhelming amount of medical issues hitting her at once.
