As many know, my dad Nile, was diagnosed with stage 4A Cholangiocarsinoma (bile duct cancer) in April 2016. Shortly after the diagnosis, he embarked on a journey to fight for his life.
Two weeks after the diagnosis, he under went an extensive surgery, removing 70% of the liver, reparing the bile duct with his intestines, and gal bladder removal. He was given 6 weeks to recover, and immediately start with some aggressive chemotherapy treatments.
Since then, he battled a serious bacterial infection, and spent 5 days at the Huntsman Center. Nile was able to complete 32 rounds of chemotherapy, and 28 days of radiation, and most recently, 3 days in acute care at the Huntsman Center for dehydration, another bacterial infection.
As you can imagine, being out of work for nearly 10 months, and medical bills piling up, the financial burden is something we don't want him or my mom worrying about right now as he continues this fight for his life.
My dad has helped so many, in so many different ways, and never expecting anything in return. So I would like to try and give back to him in a time of need.
We want to thank everyone for the continuous prayers, the many helping hands, and love and support you have shown my dad, and family in such terrible time.
Much Love,
The Hansen Family
