Help Nimble Roots Farm

Friends. We are Cecilia and Gabe, the non-farming partners of Christine and Fabio of Nimble Roots Farm, and general fans of these two incredible humans.

You may or may not have heard that on August 19, 2022, Christine and Fabio had a run of pretty terrible luck. Their home was broken into by a person in the midst of some kind of episode. On one of the rare nights C + F were out of town, this individual broke into their house, set multiple fires, rummaged through their personal effects, stole some cash, and drove off in the UTV. If it sounds wild, it's because it is. Completely unexpected and really hard to swallow that these two kind humans would have their lives invaded out of the blue.

While the guy was caught a few days ago, Christine and Fabio have been through a really tough week. There was a ton of smoke damage inside their place, their kitties had to go to the vet for smoke inhalation, and they've lost crucial farm income because they've had to focus on completely cleaning out their place and putting everything back together.

The thing about farmers is that they spend most of their time sustaining others. And we want to let them know their community sees them.

So they don't have to, we are fundraising a few bucks so that Nimble Roots can get some peace of mind.

Damages include:

new stove and hood

new refrigerator

new mattress topper

laundry and dry cleaning for all of their clothes and bedding

smoke and soot remediation work including cleaning of surfaces and vent

repaint the home

vet bills for kitties

dumpster rental for all the stuff they have to throw away

trail cams for driveway

motion sensors lights for outbuilding entryways

camera for animal barn

lost time, labor, and income (missed farmer's market, stolen market cash)

not having UTV, towing for it to be returned

Help us show Nimble Roots that their well-being is the community's well-being. It is really horrible to have one's life upended like this. Let's help them bounce back so they can focus on growing food, caring for animals, and sustaining all of us... as they are so good at doing.
