Nina needs a new transmission

We've all had that one crossing guard when we were in school who made us feel special because s/he knew our name and took the time to get to know us. Nina is all that and then some!

I came to know Nina because she is a crossing guard on my daily workout route. I was taken in by her wonderful smile and her outgoing personality. I also saw that she took her job of protecting children quite seriously.

Nina is stationed at a busy intersection that doesn't have a light or stop sign so she literally puts her life on the line to go out ahead of the children to get the cars to stop. On more than one occasion, there has been a near miss. Nina is fearless in protecting those kids.

A couple of weeks ago, Nina told me that she was without a car. Her 2003 car was in need of a transmission. She doesn't have the money to pay for it right now so she has been taking an Uber to get to her job. I would love to show Nina the support she has shown us by helping her to get her transmission fixed.

I would love to show Nina how much she is appreciated by being able to collect enough to get her car fixed.

UPDATE: Thank you to all who have donated to get Nina's transmission fixed. I spoke with her and she is overcome with emotion. She can't believe the outpouring of love and support from the community and that we made our goal in a day. She told me that she only had this 2003 car a year. I would love to see if we can raise enough money to get her a newer, more reliable vehicle.
