Hello! We're Nine Cents Broke.
Nine Cents Broke is a group of nine broke, passionate arts students at Oglethorpe University who have banded together to create a film production team. We love pushing beyond the limits of the possible, pursuing gorgeous footage, and telling incredible stories.
We created our first film, [fixed.echoes], for the Campus Movie Fest competition in the fall of 2014 and created our second film, Done, for the competition in the spring of 2015. Both films won Jury Awards. Additionally, we have been nominated for Golden Tripod Awards for our cinemotography, female acting, and soundtrack. [fixed. echoes] was nominated to participate in the competition for the Fan Choice Award and is one of the finalists! The success of our first few films has been exhilarating and has only fueled our drive to write more scripts and create new films.
So Here's the Thing: We're going to Hollywood!
In July, all nine of us will be flying west to the Campus Movie Fest Conference and Award Ceremony in Los Angelos, California. We will have the opportunity to participate in workshops with industry professionals, learn more about our craft, and network with others in the field of film creation. Needless to say, this is a huge opportunity for us.
But we need your help! Although the student government association at Oglethorpe graciously helped us acquire some funds for our trip to Hollywood, we still have a little ways to go before our trip is funded fully. We are so appreciative of every gift, no matter how small. And even if you can't help us out, please share our page and help us spread the word!
To every person who has supported us thus far: Thank You! We look forward to sharing new films with the world soon.
