Nini's Deli Employee GoFund Me
Donation protected
My name is Jameel Bridgewater and I am Chicago based artist and community organizer.
We are raising funds for 4 former employees of Nini's Deli that has closed their doors to the public and has spread harmful messages across the Chicago area.
Over the past few days, an influx of hurtful information has surfaced regarding Nini's Deli and Chicago Native owner Juany Riesco. Riesco has spread hateful rhetoric that is racist, anti-black, anti-muslim, and homophobic, including claims the Black Lives Matter movement is more dangerous than the KKK and that all religions other than Christianity are sinful. Instead of standing in solidarity with their customers and neighbors, Juany and his family have chosen to spread hateful messages and bigotry.
In light of everything that has come out, four brave staffers from Nini's Deli have stood up with their community and quit their jobs. We, as a Chicago community, must stand beside them as they have chosen to stand beside us. Because they have chosen to leave their jobs during a time of economic uncertainty and limited job opportunities, this GoFundMe page will be used to support these four workers and their families.

All of the funds will be directly withdrawn and transferred digitally to the 4 beneficiaries. These funds will be used to help cover their living expenses during the period of unemployment and economic uncertainty they have incurred following parting ways with Nini's.

(Ralph @Chef_Valentin / Cook / 2 Years)

(Manuel Meraz @Mannyfromwicker / Cook / 1 Month - He was given a job after he told Juany he was expecting a child.)

(Earnie @_erniejbaby / Barista / 1 Year)

(Alan @Jonny_bones70 / Cook /1 Year)
Thank you for supporting and caring for our local community.
