Ninja Nikki Cancer Battle

Donation protected
Hello everyone, My Name is Sandy McNeil (Stoddard). Nikki Brandt and I went to Middleton High School together over 30 years ago.

Back in the late 80's my classmate and now Sister In-law was in a horrific motor vehicle accident on her way home from a night of rollerskating. An Under-aged driver struck, head on, the vehicle Nikki was in. Nikki was the sole survivor in that accident. This accident left Nikki with a traumatic brain Injury and unable to walk, unable to be alone and unable to seek employment. Doctors back then stated that she would never walk again. Through the love, support and dedication of time from Jim, Nikki was able to walk again, with restrictions . Jim and Nikki continued to be friends and years later got married. From the time Nikki was released from the hospital until current, they have spent everyday, 24 hours a day, together. They live and breathe each other. Love and support each other, and were talking about starting to travel and see the world.

Fast forward to this summer. Jim & Nikki were home when Nikki, all of a sudden, had some issues with speaking and became to weak to stand. Jim took Nikki to the Emergency room for immediate treatment. Since this was during the covid pandemic, Jim was not allowed to be with Nikki. It was the first night in over 33 years that they were apart. That was when their whole world came crumbling down. The diagnosis was that Nikki had cancer. The Doctors drained the water pressure from her brain and started treatment on Nikki. Nikki was scared and alone for the first time since her accident. Flash backs of her accident were coming back and the one person she could always count on to be by her side was not allowed into the hospital to be with her. This was just as traumatic for Jim as it was for Nikki.

A week of communicating by phone went on and that was when Doctors told Jim that Nikki's cancer was throughout her body. Radiation was attempted and unsuccessful. The Doctors have stated that Nikki is fighting for days and not months in her battle. In that short time of treatment, the medical bills are heading toward the $150,000 range in non-covered treatments and medications.

Jim has not been able to work for several months and never fathomed he would be in a financial hardship like this.Struggling to make the money to cover the cost of housing, the medical bills and the medications not covered by Insurance have added even more stress to the situation.

Jim & Nikki over the years have helped a lot of people out when they needed the help, never asking for anything in return. If you are in a position to be able to contribute anything to this cause, it would be appreciated.  I know Jim and Nikki are not people that would ask for help. They have put so many peoples needs and wants before their own. I would love to show both of them the level of friendships they have from their family and friends during this difficult time. It is so hard to believe that we need to start thinking about saying goodbye to one of the most caring, thoughtful and fun-loving person that I have ever met.

Thank you for supporting our Friendship and bonds that have been created over the years. I cherish each and everyone of you. Ninja Nikki continues to fight for her life. Please share this go fund me to family and friends and Pray for Nikki & Jim.
