Help Ashleigh Fight Cancer

Donation protected
Our names are Ryan and Lee-Ann Jarrett, and we are Ashleigh’s mother and stepfather. We are reaching out to help support Ashleigh’s fight against breast cancer.

Thank you for visiting this page and taking the time to read about Ashleigh’s journey.

In early March 2024 Ashleigh was diagnosed with breast cancer otherwise known as, invasive ductal carcinoma. She is being followed by several specialists, as they are planning to treat her
“aggressively” due to her age.

Over the last few weeks, Ashleigh and Spencer have been faced with some difficult conversations and decisions but have remained extremely positive. Although Ashleigh has just begun her journey and has a long way to go, she has already shown incredible resilience, fortitude, and positivity as she prepares for the biggest fight of her life.

Ashleigh and Spencer began their life together as husband and wife on June 3, 2023 and planned to start a family this year. Ashleigh is currently awaiting a surgery date and will be completing fertility treatments prior to her cancer treatments, as several of the cancer treatments will affect her fertility at different stages. As of right now, we have been told that her treatments will include surgery, radiation, hormone therapy and most likely chemotherapy. She will also most likely need additional surgeries down the road depending on certain results that we are still awaiting. We are still waiting for her cancer to be staged and do not have a ton of information yet, but we will update
as we learn more.

Ashleigh is a 28-year-old Registered Nurse who recently began devoting her career to helping those with limited health care resources in Nunavut. She has been working as a critical care
flight nurse for Keewatin Air since last August where she was away flying 2 weeks out of every month. She was also working casually at the Drumheller Health Centre supporting her local
community on her days off from flying. Ashleigh has also recently been accepted to the Nurse Practitioner program.

Because of the nature of Ashleigh’s flight job away from home, she will be unable to work as she goes through this journey and has applied for short term disability. Although Ashleigh is
grateful to have this option, most of her fertility treatments, costs of frequent travel to and from Calgary to receive treatment, and accommodations are not covered. As for her hormone therapy
and chemotherapy, she is still waiting to know what medications she will be on and how much of them will be covered by her benefits. Additionally, because Spencer is a contractor, he does not have his own benefits and will not receive pay when he needs to take time off to support Ashleigh.

The diagnosis of cancer brings stress and uncertainty. Ashleigh and Spencer have some challenging months ahead and we are hoping to raise funds for them to alleviate some of the
financial strain that will result from Ashleigh’s treatments so she can focus on her recovery. We thank you for taking the time to consider donating. Every little bit helps, and no amount is too
small. If you are unable to donate, your prayers and well wishes will go a long way as well.

Ashleigh and Spencer are already beyond grateful for the amazing support they have received from their friends and family thus far and are so honored to be surrounded by such an incredible support system. Thank you in advance from the bottom of our hearts for your kindness, compassion, and generosity.

With heartfelt gratitude,
Ashleigh’s Crew
